Nits are small yellowish or tan and could be a brown color as they get closer to hatching. Nits are attached to the hair with a glue like substance making them a little difficult to remove. Once the Nits hatch they become what is called a “Nymph” which is the child stage of the parasite. After a couple weeks they will mature and become an actual adult louse.

After you have taken the time to be sure it is Lice your child has, you will then need to find the best treatment for head lice. Friends and neighbors can and will give you a lot of advice or you could take your child to a Doctor.
